Who We Are

Northumberland County Collection Service Inc. (NCCSI) is a privately owned corporation, which has been in business since 1967. We are a third party Professional Collection Agency, with our Head Office located in the town of Cobourg. We are licensed to operate in the province of Ontario with affiliates across Canada giving us the ability to collect regionally and nationally.

In 2006 under new ownership, NCCSI modernized its approach to the service it provides. New technology was introduced giving client’s real time reporting and advanced collection processes while still maintaining its customer focused service. The new owners brought an additional 25 years of collection experience to the business and strengthened its team with knowledgeable and experienced employees from the area.

Results — not promises is our motto and we are dedicated to serving our clients with integrity, honesty and open communication. Our expertise and experience provide assurance of our firm's understanding and compliance with the Federal, Provincial and Local laws governing the operation of Collection Agencies. NCCSI’s staff is bonded and carries professional liability insurance.

Our Mission

Our mission at NCCSI is to provide a complete, customized and cost-effective approach to managing your accounts receivables, thereby increasing your company's cash flow. We do so with enough firmness to obtain results, yet with the finesse necessary to maintain your good public image. NCCSI's customized approach to collections has afforded us a recovery rate that is considerably higher than the national average.

Primary Collection Service

NCCSI offers an assertive approach to collecting your bad debts which includes collection letters, personal telephone calls, personal interviews, and, if necessary, placement of your customers accounts with the credit bureau for a period of seven years and/or legal action.

Flexibility in placing accounts for collection saves you time and may be sent electronically or manually. The first Collection notice is in the mail to your customer within 24 hours with collectors calling within five days.

Legal Service

If our client requests, once NCCSI has exhausted its efforts and realizes that your consumer, while having the means to pay, refuses payment, NCCSI will turn your account over to our qualified legal representative. At this time, judgment will be served and the avenues needed to collect your outstanding account will be pursued. This is a seamless operation and the NCCSI staff will walk you through this next step in collections.

Credit Bureau Reporting

Being a member of the credit bureaus, we can report accounts nationwide and place them electronically with both Equifax and Trans Union, where they remain on your customer's credit record for a period of seven years. In most instances, this prevents your customer from obtaining credit until they have paid your account.

Skip-Tracing Service

Skip tracing is a service provided by NCCSI, which is available for its clients to help locate addresses and phone numbers of customers who are no longer in contact with you regarding their debt. By integrating with well known information providers, NCCSI will access their databases to secure the latest information available to locate debtors.

Accounts Receivable Management Service, Early-Out

Early-Out is a service which NCCSI provides and is designed to assist you in collecting your current account receivables, normally those less than 120 days old. Timing is an important factor when managing your receivables. The longer an account goes without billing and follow up, the greater the chance that the account will fall into arrears and become difficult to collect. NCCSI has an established automated system that tracks your account receivables and through the use of a softer approach to follow-up, will have the money in your hands sooner. This service is offered at an affordable commission rate, which will increase your company’s cash flow and free up your time to concentrate on your core business.

Budget Payment & Monitoring

This service provides its clients with payment arrangement set up, tracking and follow up. Customers are given the option of a fixed-term payment plan at a low rate of interest allowing them to protect their credit rating while providing the client a more secure position in the collection of their debt.

Consulting & Educational Service

NCCSI provides on-site collection seminars and training for its clients in an effort to assist them in recovering their in-house receivables and enhancing their collection processes.
